Wrightsville June Report

In Wrightsville Beach we have been working extra hard to find some good redfish, flounder and Spanish mackerel when we can get off the beach. A lot of rain and winds the past couple weeks. We hope when this weather gets out of here the winds will lay down and the summer fishing will get into its normal pattern. Until then we fish harder and continue to have the best of times doing it.

Memorial Week Fishing Update

The weather started off awesome and hung in that way until today. With crowded water ways, and lots of boat traffic our week started off at 10 to 15 miles out. Landing right on the spot!! Kings, sharks, flounder, black sea bass, grunts, and groupers made up a lot of our daily catch. The spanish bite continues to be HOT as well. Red fish have started chewing good in their summer spots but not quite schooling as we had been banging a lot of docks to find a fish here and there on them. When we find them , the bruisers have been putting our drags to the test. We expect the fishing to get better and better as the summer month of June gets closer and are Ready to have y’all Aboard !!!! The Outside is waiting for you!!

Red Hot Spanish Bite!!!!!

Now that our Cape Fear , Wilmington Area is opening back up we look forward to getting y’all back on the water. The Spanish bite continues to be amazing with quality fish caught while trolling and casting to surface hungry fish. We had a little unexpected Cold Snap around Wrightsville Beach which brought the water temps down but they will come back up quick over the next few days and Hopefully some Cobia start to show themselves. Flounder fishing in the Ocean is hot but unfortunately we can’t keep them due to NCDMF! But they are super fun to catch!! The bottom critters are always chewing off the beach 10 to 15 miles out if you want to just fill the cooler. The inshore fishing is good as well with Black Drum, Reds, and Trout Chewing from the Cape Fear River to FigureEight Island. We expect the fishing to get only better over the next few weeks as we lean not June. Call for reservations. We have at rip for everyone wanting to fish or go clamming with the family.

Spring fishing has been good and now is Full Spring Fishing MODE! We are at the end of our bonito season which we are still catching and they have been liking pink. Spanish are pushing in and any week now we should be seeing our first COBIAS SOON witch that Season Opens May 1. The dock Reds are chewing a little bit as well as a good black drum bite on bait shrimp. We are also catching plenty of trout depending on where you want to be. Kings have pushed in Near shore and getting better with each warm up. The black sea bass and bottom bite continues to be good as well as some nearshore kings and we look for it to continue to get better through the spring.
